First Grade News 10/10

Dear Parents,

Week at a Glance

This week in math we are working on fact families. In religion we are learning about the people of Israel as they enter the Promised Land. For memory we are studying the Seventh Commandment. In handwriting we are practicing writing numbers in equations. Our language lessons are on correcting sentences for proper capitalization and punctuation. During reading lessons we are practicing words beginning with consonants “r”, “w”, “j”, and “k”. This week in science we are learning parts of plants. Our social studies lessons are about working together and government roles.

October 18 – Early Dismissal, No Extended Care

October 25 – Trunk or Treat

November 1 – Field Trip

Food Collection
Hope is collecting food to donate to Shawnee Mission Community from October 16th to 18th. Please consider donating canned goods to help us support our local community.


Trunk or Treat
Hope will host a Trunk or Treat event on Friday, October 25th from 5:30-7:00 pm. There is no cost to this event. If you are interested in hosting a trunk, please contact Miss Mondary at mondary@hoplutheran.org.
