Dear Parents,
I pray that you and your families have a blessed Spring Break! Please read this newsletter carefully for information regarding the school week of March 24-28.
Week at a Glance March 10-14
This week in handwriting we are practicing letters “y” and “w”. In language we are learning the months of the years and are writing sentences from prompts. In religion we are learning about Jesus’ ministry to children and how He healed the sick. During math we are building our subtraction skills by subtracting tens from two-digit numbers. This week in reading we are learning about r-controlled vowels and how “r” changes the sound. In science we are learning about the water cycle and how corn needs water to grow. During social studies we are learning how to tell facts from opinions and identifying our state on a map.

Mite Boxes Reminder
Remember to put your coins in your Mite Boxes! We are encouraging all children at Hope Lutheran School to fill their Mite Box and bring it back on March 26th for chapel.
The best way to fill the mite box is to put your loose change from the car or have the children put in a penny a day. Thank you for supporting the LWML.

Please note that our memory assignment after spring break is Luther’s Morning Prayer. Please practice this with your student during spring break. Daily practice helps build confidence with knowledge and retention of these memory verses. Thank you for supporting this learning at home!

Memory 3/24-3/28 – Luther’s Morning Prayer
I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen.
