Week at a Glance
This week in handwriting we are learning how to write letters and numbers that are easy to read. In reading we are practicing long vowel sounds. During math we are reviewing addition patterns and solving for unknown addends. In language we are reviewing sentences. In science we are learning that matter can be a solid, liquid, or gas. In religion class we are learning about Abraham. During social studies we are learning about families and family trees.

Chick-fil-a Spirit Night
Please consider supporting Hope during our Spirit Night at the Chick-fil-a location on Shawnee Mission Parkway from 4-9 pm. Enjoy some delicious food and support Hope at the same time!
Fall Carnival and Pie Auction
Hope’s annual fall carnival will take place on September 6th from 6-8 pm. The pie auction will begin at 7 pm. Join us for fellowship, games, food, and fun!
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent/Teacher conferences will take place on September 18th and 19th. School will dismiss early on September 18th and there will be no school on September 19th due to these conferences. These conferences are an important way to connect regarding your student’s education thus far in second grade.
Fall Break
Fall break will be Monday, September 29th through Friday, October 3rd. School will not be in session during those days.
