The Milt Brueggemann Hope Classic Basketball Tournament is December 5-7. We would love for you to come and help! Please consider volunteering at the following link: MBHC Sign Ups. It is a fun weekend full of athletics, fellowship, and cheering on our Hope athletes!
K-2 Christmas Program
We have begun rehearsals for our Christmas Program! 2nd grade students have speaking parts to memorize. This is in addition to their weekly memory. We are practicing these parts during the school day. Please encourage your student to also practice their speaking part at home to help them feel confident and prepared! The K-2 Christmas Program will be December 11th. The program will begin at 6:00 pm. Please have your student at the classroom no later than 5:30 pm so they can put their costume on. This performance is required.

Advent Services
You are invited to Hope’s Midweek Advent services. These worship services are every Wednesday in December until Christmas. Services are held at 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm with a dinner served in between at 5:00 pm. Please note that the K-2 choir is singing at the 4pm Advent service on December 3rd. For pickup that day, your child will stay in the classroom. We will walk over to the church as a class. After the students sing in the balcony they will come find you in the sanctuary. If your child is unable to attend, please email our choir director Mrs. Heiss at heiss@hopelutheran.org. These performances are part of your child’s choir grade.
Tissues

Our classroom supply of tissues is running low. If you are able please send in a box of tissues to help our classroom stay healthy. Thank you!

Reading Logs
2nd graders will track their nightly reading assignments using a reading log. You must sign the reading log and record the name of the book your child read so your student can get credit for reading. Nightly reading helps students maintain and improve fluency and provides them with an opportunity to independently use the reading strategies they are learning in school.

Cold Weather
Weather conditions continue to change and get colder. Please ensure your child brings a jacket to school to prepare for the day’s weather conditions. Per Hope’s recess policy, students must have an extra layer when the temperature is below 50 degrees.

Thanksgiving Break
Hope will not have school from November 25-28 due to Thanksgiving. We pray you have a blessed Thanksgiving break!
