Celebrating America 250 Years Fair (History Fair) – Please Read
This year our curriculum fair will celebrate 250 years of America. 2nd grade’s research focus is on inventors. The research portion will be done at school. Your student will need your support to complete their 3D project. Students must choose one option but may choose additional options to present their research.
Students must arrive in the classroom by 5:15 pm. Attire for 2nd grade is “dress like their inventor” for the Celebrating America Fair, please refer to the email I sent for your child’s assigned inventor. Participation and attendance are mandatory for this important school-wide academic event. It will take place on Thursday, April 30 from 5:30-7:00pm.
The 3D project options are:
- Diorama
- Figure Model
- Dress like the inventor
- Build an invention prototype
Thank you for encouraging your students in their research!
Summer Art Camp – The Lutheran High School of Kansas City
The Lutheran High School of Kansas City is hosting a summer art camp from June 8-12 that is open to students in 2nd grade. The camp will last from 12-3pm. Art camp participants will work through different techniques in areas such as sculpture, drawing, and painting. There will be a student art show at the end of the camp.
Fine Arts Night
Fine Arts Night is Hope’s end-of-the-year showcase for our arts department. Attendance is mandatory for this event and participation is part of your child’s music grade.
Each year every class collaborates on a themed art project. These projects will be available for bidding during a silent auction on Fine Arts Night. Attached is a picture of 2nd grade’s 2026 class art project “Let’s Make a Joyful Noise”.
