Dear Parents,

This week in handwriting we reviewed our lowercase cursive letters and practiced writing numbers in cursive. In math we worked on three-digit subtraction and learned vocabulary about arrays. In language we practiced using contractions in sentences. This week in reading we read informational text. In science we learned about how water moves from higher places to lower places. Summer Art Camp – The Lutheran High School of Kansas City
The Lutheran High School of Kansas City is hosting a summer art camp from June 8-12 that is open to students in 2nd grade. The camp will last from 12-3pm. Art camp participants will work through different techniques in areas such as sculpture, drawing, and painting. There will be a student art show at the end of the camp.
Fine Arts Night
Fine Arts Night is Hope’s end-of-the-year showcase for our arts department. Attendance is mandatory for this event and participation is part of your child’s music grade.
Each year every class collaborates on a themed art project. These projects will be available for bidding during a silent auction on Fine Arts Night. Attached is a picture of 2nd grade’s 2026 class art project “Let’s Make a Joyful Noise”.
