Week at a Glance
This week in handwriting we practiced writing number words and days of the week. In language we are categorizing opposite words. During religion we are learning about Jesus’ resurrection. We are finishing our unit on halves and fourths this week during math. In reading we are studying the historical fiction genre and are learning about verbs. This week in science we are learning about what scientists do. Our social studies lessons are about the United States government system.

May 1 – Class Group/ 8th Grade Graduation, Spring Sports Pictures, International Fair Night 6:00 pm (Students arrive at 5:45)
Talent Show
Hope’s Talent Show will be Friday, April 25th at 2:00 pm in Concord Hall.
Choir Sings 4/27
First and second graders will be singing at Hope’s 10:30 service this Sunday, April 27. Please bring your student to the Luther Room by 10:15 to warm up. Students will sit with their parents during the service and will stand on the steps in front to sing.
MAP Testing
MAP testing begins this week. Please ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep and eats breakfast before these tests. Please make sure they bring a water bottle so they can stay hydrated while learning.
Make-Up Snow Days
We have three snow days built into our calendar this year. We will be making up one day on April 25th.
Cleaning Wipes and Tissues
Our class supply of Clorox wipes and tissues is almost out. If you can, please send in a container of wipes or box of tissues if you are able. Anything is appreciated!
Water Bottles and Snacks
Please continue to send your student to school with a water bottle and a snack each day. This helps them stay hydrated and have enough energy to keep up their learning throughout the whole school day.
International Fair
We are continuing to study Guatemala in preparation for the International Fair. Please save the date for the International Fair on May 1st, 2025. Students must arrive by 5:45 pm. All students are required to attend and participate. All tri-board projects will be completed at school. Students will not be giving speeches on their research due to the format of this year’s academic fair.
Fine Arts Night
Please save the date for Fine Arts Night on May 15th at 6:30 pm.
