Dear Parents,

Week at a Glance

This week in reading we learned about poetic elements and suffixes. In language we learned about special sounds and that sentences have two parts. Our math lessons are about using addition to check work in subtraction. During religion we are learning about Moses and the people of Israel during the time of the Exodus. This week in handwriting we are writing the letters “f”, “g”, “j”, and “q”. In social studies we are learning about what the government’s role is and what the constitution is. In science we are learning how water can change.

October 24 Trunk or Treat 5:30pm-7pm

Jackets

As the fall weather gets cooler, please make sure your child brings a jacket or sweater appropriate for the day’s weather. Morning recess is often cooler than the high temperature for the day. Students may wear a Hope hoodie or uniform sweater in the classroom if they feel cold during the school day. They may wear other jackets outside. Hope’s recess policy requires students to have a second layer if the temperature outside is below 50 degrees.

Water Bottles and Snacks

Please continue to send your student with a water bottle and two snacks for the day. This helps keep your student hydrated and focused for the day.

Trunk or Treat

Hope is hosting a Trunk or Treat event on Friday, October 24th from 5:30-7:00 pm. You are invited to attend!

Memory – October 13-17 – The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Miss Hannah Christian
