This week in science we are reviewing our unit on plants and animals. In social studies we are learning about disaster relief groups. Uniform Reminders – Socks
As a reminder, school uniform policy is that students must wear socks with their uniform. These socks may be solid white, navy, black, red, light blue, or tan. On Fridays, students are allowed to wear “fun” socks as part of Spirit Wear Friday.
Students should not wear socks outside of the color guidelines, or socks with cartoon characters, etc. Monday-Thursday.
History Fair
Information will be coming soon for this year’s curriculum fair. The focus this year is history. Students will be responsible for a research project which will be completed mostly at school. Any aspects that must be completed at home will be shared in advance.
Cold Weather
Please send your child with an appropriate jacket for each day’s weather. Students are not permitted to go out for recess if they are not adequately dressed with a warm jacket. Students may also bring gloves and hats to help them stay warm during this cold and snowy season.
Open House
Hope will have an Open House on Thursday, February 19th beginning at 5:30 pm. You are invited to meet next year’s teacher and see your child’s classroom for the upcoming year!
Valentine’s Parties
We will celebrate Valentine’s Day on February 13th at 2:00 pm. Students are invited to decorate a shoebox to put Valentine’s in. If students choose to bring Valentine’s treats they must bring enough for everyone in the class.

Please be aware that all communication regarding school closure for snow days will come from the office.
