Hi all,
I hope your week is going well! I do not have much new to report, our class has been doing well and working hard. We are in our last five weeks of school… can you believe it? This year has flown by so quickly, and I can’t believe it is almost over. We are going to finish the year strong!
Math:
We are currently working on subtraction, and the class is doing a great job! Students are actively participating and showing a strong desire to learn and challenge themselves. We will continue this unit through next week. At this time, I am not seeing any major areas of concern, which is wonderful to see.
Reading and Writing:
This week, we are writing simple sentences about our friends and family. The class continues to show growth in their handwriting. I am still noticing some struggles with writing numbers, so I will continue to focus on strengthening that skill.
During independent reading time, students are choosing both developmentally appropriate and leveled books. They have really enjoyed having the freedom to select books that interest them!
Social Studies:
This week, we learned about Bethlehem and Jerusalem, and we are beginning our introduction to Kenya.
We have also been working on our float, song, and projects for the History Fair. As mentioned last week, practicing our song at home would be very helpful!
Science:
We will begin discussing how to share and communicate what we learn throughout the day.
Religion:
We are continuing to learn about what Jesus did after His resurrection.
Dates to Remember:
- April 23 – Class Group
- April 30 – Celebrating America 250 Years Fair (History Fair), 5:30–7:00 PM
- May 1 – No School
Other Notes:
This quarter, our chapel offering will support the Guatemala Mission Trip. Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church partners with El Divino Salvador (The Divine Savior) Lutheran Church in Zacapa, Guatemala. Each year, a mission group travels there to support their ministry. So far, we have collected $75.99 in fourth-quarter donations, thank you for your generosity!
We are out of Offering money, if anyone would be willing to send it coins, it would be greatly appriciated.
Get Ready to Celebrate America!
Our students have been working hard on their Celebrate America Fair projects, and we are excited for you to see their creativity and dedication come to life!
Event Details (April 30):
