Hi all,
I hope your Easter weekends were blessed and full of joy and excitement! I wanted to start by saying thank you to all of our volunteers who signed up to help with our field trips this week, your time and support are greatly appreciated.
This will be a shorter academic week for us since we did not have school on Monday and we have two field trips scheduled. Because of this, our classroom learning time will be a bit limited.
Math:
We are beginning our unit on money. This week, we will focus on pennies and nickels. The main goal is to help students become familiar with coins, identifying them and beginning to understand how to count simple amounts of money.
Reading & Writing:
We will continue working on journals. This week, I will introduce sentence starters and see how independently students can complete their thoughts. I am hopeful they will be able to do this with minimal support.
Social Studies:
We will do a short lesson on the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and for the remainder of the week, we will work on projects for our History Fair.
Science:
We will learn about the steps of problem-solving, such as identifying a problem, understanding its cause, brainstorming solutions, and using trial and error.
