Newsletter, February 29th

February 28, 2024

Happy Leap Day! It’s hard to believe that another quarter of the school year is almost over! All missing work must be turned in by next Thursday to receive any credit. This includes any papers that have been redone for corrections.

March 2nd is the birthday of Dr. Suess. Tomorrow, March 1st, we will celebrate Read-Across-America Day and Dr. Suess’ birthday! We will get comfy, snuggle down with a stuffy, and enjoy time just reading for the joy of it. Oh, the adventures we can go on with a good book! Kids can bring a book from home or use one from our classroom. They may bring a stuffed animal from home to snuggle during our silent reading time.

Book Reports – Some of the students have already brought their biography timeline book reports to school and are anxious to share them next week! Remember that they are due this Friday, March 1.

Tests Next Week – We finished unit 3 (Economy) in social studies and will have our test next Monday. A Quizizz review is available to use as they study for the test in Google Classroom until Monday.
On Wednesday, we will take our chapter 4 science test entitled “Living Things”.
We will have our chapter 9 math test on fraction concepts on Thursday.

Grandparents Day is on Friday, March 8th! It is always a fun day when you get to spend it with grandparents or a special person. We feel very blessed to be able to share the day with them again this year. If your student does not have a grandparent or special person attending, please let me know.

Tri-Fold Boards Please purchase the tri-fold boards from the school for the science fair project. The cost for the board is $6.00. The colors available are blue, red, yellow, or green. It is first come first serve for the boards so the sooner you purchase, the better chance of getting your first choice of color.

Spelling – We will not have a new spelling list for next week.

Memory for March 6:

The Third Article: Sanctification
What does this mean?  (Part 1)
I believe that I cannot by my own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord, or come to Him; but the Holy Spirit has called me by the Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, sanctified and kept me in the true faith.
