Valentine’s Day – Our party with be on Friday afternoon from 2:30-3:15. Valentines should be brought to school on Friday morning. (Remember that if your child is giving out valentines, everyone in the class must be included.) Students can wear a Valentine’s top with uniform bottoms to school on Friday as well.

Geography Bee – Congratulations to Killian and Lucy who were the winners of our classroom Geography Bee. They will represent our class in the School Geography Bee at the end of the month. David is our alternate.

Student Ushers – The season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday and continues up until Easter. 3rd-4th grades have been asked to help with handing out service folders and ushering for the 4:00 Wednesday Lenten Services beginning on March 12th. This is an opportunity for the students to be involved in a way that they enjoy and can be of service to the congregation that supports our school in so many ways. Student helpers can stay with me after school, and I will accompany them to the sanctuary until after the service. Please use this Sign-Up Genius to indicate which service(s) your child could be available to serve. Your child is not expected to serve every week, but please indicate any/all weeks that it would be possible.  Lenten student usher sign-up

Book report – Project information and rubric for our biography book reports are in this week’s envelope. For this book report, they will be making a timeline of their person.  Students have access to colored paper in the classroom to use for this project if needed. The due date is Friday, February 28. All of the students have selected their biographies to read. I am encouraging them to jot down important dates and events as they are reading so that they have the information for their timelines.

Redo/Corrections Policy reminder – Assignments that receive less than 75% are eligible for a redo. Assignments will go home each week in the Thursday envelope.  Corrections must be turned in by the following week to receive any additional points.  Quizzes and tests are not included as redo assignments. *Each redo assignment needs to be completed on a separate piece of paper and stapled to the original assignment.  The first page should be the redo assignment with the heading of the assignment that was redone, along with the date and name of the student.  Students will only need to complete/redo the questions that were missed, not the whole assignment.
