It’s time for SPRING BREAK!!! I think we can all use a little break. I think we are getting a touch of “spring fever” with the warm weather we have been enjoying!
Grandparents Day—For Grandparents Day tomorrow, students should wear their school uniform, but no hoodies, spirit wear, or silly socks! We are looking forward to the day with all the wonderful Grandparents! Remember that it is an early dismissal day. All 3rd graders need to check out with me before leaving with a grandparent if they are not doing our normal pick-up routine through the car line.
We will begin the 4th quarter in reading class with the book “Little House in the Big Woods”. Our spelling words will be taken from our vocabulary instead of following a certain vowel pattern or syllable type.
Spelling words for March 27:
| trundle | thimble | briar | ravine | solemn |
| woods | bear | roasted | fiddle | bullets |
Sentence: Pa played his fiddle at night.
Memory for March 25: The Third Article: Sanctification
What does this mean? (Part 2)
In the same way He calls, gathers, enlightens, and sanctifies the whole Christian church on earth, and keeps it with Jesus Christ in the one true faith. In this Christian church He daily and richly forgives all my sins and the sins of all believers.
Advanced notice!
My class has a tradition of making egg trees for Easter during Holy Week. Your child will need the following on Monday morning, March 30:
- 1 – 6” clay pot (clean, with price tag completely removed)
- 1 dozen blown out eggs (RINSED!)
- 1 tree branch (It should be about 18″-24″ tall with plenty of other little branches to hang our eggs on.)
I will supply all the other materials needed. Please do not send these items into the classroom (especially branches) until Holy Week.
Have a great spring break! Enjoy the extra time with God’s precious gifts – your children!
