Our chapel services were led by Mrs. Haverkamp this week. The lesson was from Luke, chapter 24. As the disciples walk the Emmaus Road, their words reveal how they are still caught up in the sadness of Good Friday. They’ve heard the women’s report at the tomb but have yet to believe it. Jesus opened their eyes to the Scripture so that they could understand that He fulfilled all of the prophecies about the Savior who had to die and rise again to win the victory over sin and death for us. We need our eyes to be opened to Jesus, too. For this reason, we need to read His story; we need to be in God’s Word every day because in it we learn the greatest story of how He saved us from eternal death.
