Our school year has gone by so quickly! I have grown so fond of these kids that it’s hard to let them go at the end of the year. Thank you for sharing them with me this year! I pray that you have a wonderful, restful summer!
Tonight, May 15th – Fine Arts Night
We are excited about the opportunity to showcase our Arts department. Our music directors have worked with the students all year on music theory, rhythm, and voice. During the evening, each choir will be performing. Our bands and recorders, directed by Mrs. Eckhoff, will also perform. Mrs. Bird’s art class projects will be displayed around the building; families will be invited to an Open House where they can enjoy the art projects done by the students.
Students will arrive at 5:45 pm and meet their teacher in their classroom. After the music performance, students return to their classrooms; parents pick them up.
Students in Kindergarten – 2nd grade are to wear their Sunday best. The 3rd – 8th grade students are to wear WHITE TOPS AND BLACK BOTTOMS.
Friday, May 16th – No School
Teachers are working on report cards. There is no school for students.
Monday, May 19th –
We have field day from 9:00 – 11:00 am. Students are to wear their Hope T-shirts that day with appropriate-length shorts. Be sure to have a water bottle and apply sunscreen in the morning before school! Parents are welcome to attend field day. The hot lunch for that day is a Hot Dog lunch. This will be the last day that school lunch is available.
*Please send an extra bag to school with your student. We will be cleaning out lockers and desks throughout the week, and backpacks seem to fill up quickly when finding all the “treasures” that have been left in the desks and lockers over the last semester.
Tuesday, May 20th – Picnic Day
We will walk to Gum Springs Park together as a school to enjoy a picnic lunch. The permission slip must be turned in for your student to attend. All students must bring their own lunches and water bottles. Students are to wear their school uniforms on this day. We will have a yearbook signing time in the morning before our picnic. (If your child did not order a yearbook, they will receive an autograph booklet to use during our signing time.)
Wednesday, May 22nd – Last Day!
Students do not need to bring anything to school. They must wear their uniform. Awards will be presented right after chapel. Students will return to our classroom before dismissal to get their report cards in their final Thursday envelope for this school year. We will use our normal dismissal procedure beginning soon after (around 10:30-10:45). Parents are welcome to attend chapel and awards!!
