Mrs. Jankowski led chapel on Wednesday based on Matthew 5:13-16. A pumpkin was used to illustrate God’s light.

Opening the top:  leads us to the messy inside which represents our sin.

Eyes were represented with hearts: We love because He first loved us.

Nose was shaped as a cross:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Mouth was shaped as a fish:  We are to be fishers of men by telling others about Jesus.

Light inside the pumpkin: Christ is the light of the world!

Report cards are being sent home in this week’s Thursday envelope. Please sign and return the unsealed envelope but keep the report card.

Even in between sports seasons, teachers track eligibility. Parents of students in grades 4-8 will be notified when the child’s grade in a class is below 75% so they can more specifically help the child in that area.

Basketball is beginning.  The schedule is posted in the Hope Happenings.

The 3rd-5th grade choir will sing during the late service on November 2. Students should meet Mrs. Schkade in the Luther Room by 10:15 to warm up. Students will sit in the balcony until their piece is finished. They can then meet their parents in the sanctuary or the narthex. Parents, please email Mrs. Schkade and/or your child’s homeroom teacher if your child has other church or family commitments that prevent him or her from attending.

The beginning of cooler temperatures in the morning has arrived.  Please remind your child to bring a jacket.  When temperatures are below 50, a jacket is required in order to participate in  outdoor recess. Thank you.

The Hope auction is coming up quickly.  If you have not reserved your table, a table with your name can be reserved for you.  We look forward to seeing everyone there.

Operation Christmas Child boxes are here!  Please consider filling a box with your child.

We are planning to bring them all to chapel on Wednesday, November 12.  Thank you.
