Earth Science

March 6, 2024

We have finished our study of continental drift and plate tectonics. Our test for chapter 7 is today, Thursday. Grades will be posted on RenWeb later in the evening. This is also the end of the quarter, so grades that are on posted will be the grade for the quarter. Our next chapter is Earth Dynamics and we will be studying how the forces that move the plates also shape our land. We will continue to look at the three types of plate boundaries and how they form specific land features such as mountains, volcanoes, trenches, and many more land forms. Students should continue working on their science fair experiments. The next important due date is March 25 and students will be required to have their experiment finished and have their data (numbers) available so they can work on graphs and tables in their math classes.

We have been studying volcanoes this week. We have had a look at different types of lava that came from Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Fuego from their eruptions. We will take our test for this chapter on Thursday, May 9. Thanks so much for your support for your student...
