We have finished our chapter on cells. I feel that the students have a fairly good understanding of the organelles and how they function in the cells. They also spent quite a bit of time learning how plants make food in the process of photosynthesis and how animal cells convert food energy into ATP in the mitochondria. They also learned how these two process are a cycle that continues to flow through the food cycle from plants to animals. Thursday will are taking the chapter 2 test and grades will be posted in the evening. Next week we will begin our chapter on the cell cycle and will be learning about mitosis/cell division.
