It’s a new semester and the students are excited about animals. They have even asked to which phyla lice belong. The answer is Arthropoda. They are in the class Insecta. I did some additional research and learned there are 4 subclasses of lice and they are divided by the host they live on. Human lice have their own subclass. This is just an example of the fun things we are learning. We are currently learning about invertebrates and when we finish this chapter, we will do our first dissection — the earthworm, which is in the phylum Annelida (segmented worms).
Life Science
We have been reviewing the chapters that we studied this semester. The students will take their final exam Thursday, May 15 and then we will be done with Life Science. Thank you for a great year!
