4-6 Weekly School Scoop, August 15

August 14, 2024

Welcome back to school! We are excited to have students in the building again! This year’s theme is “Endure” with a focus on Hebrews 12:1-3, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.”

Weekly newsletters will look a little different this year. You will receive one newsletter on Thursdays from the 4th-6th grade team. Please read the opening paragraphs and calendar items and then click on the teacher’s name to learn specific news about that classroom, including memory assignments and upcoming spelling words.

Each of our K-8 classrooms are studying a different country throughout the year to be presented at the International Fair in May. Fourth grade will study France, fifth grade will learn about Norway, and sixth grade will explore Egypt.

During this next week, our students will be working on classroom procedures and experiencing each of their classes, including specials. Parents, you can learn about your child’s classroom expectations by joining us for the Back to School Night (see schedule below).

Thursday envelopes will be coming home today. All graded papers and notes from the office will be sent in the Thursday envelope. Please take out the papers and go over them with your child. Return only items that require signatures, such as permission slips, or papers requested by the teacher. Please indicate your child’s church and Sunday School attendance before sending it back to school on Monday.

If your child will be in sports, please send a current sports physical to school.
