October 16, 2024

During this short week, we are working on special projects such as preparing for the spelling bee, creating a slide show for our Veterans Day program, and recording a thank you for the pastors in our lives.

Next week, we’ll dive into our first class novel, Number the Stars, by Lois Lowry. It is the story of a girl whose family is living in Denmark during World War II. We will talk about the challenges of wartime and the Holocaust at a sixth grade level. Our spelling/vocabulary words will be taken from the novel, so our spelling textbook will be put away for a while.
