Chapel: Students from Lutheran High School of Kansas City led our all-school chapel this week. These 19 students are in a class called “Applied Christianity,” which is taught by Mrs. Bahr. They presented a skit and gave a message about the Fruits of the Spirit. At the end of the skit, the guilty girl confessed that she had failed to abide by those fruits. She asked for forgiveness, and our Judge Jesus Christ granted it without hesitation!
Verse to Remember: Galatians 5:22-23a, 25-26 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control… If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
End of the Quarter – Friday is an early dismissal day. Teachers will be working on report cards in the afternoon. Report cards will be sent home in next week’s Thursday envelope. Please sign and return the unsealed envelope but keep the report card.
Eligibility– Even in between sports seasons, teachers track eligibility. Parents of students in grades 4-8 will be notified when the child’s grade in a class is below 75% so they can more specifically help the child in that area.
Choir sings– The 3rd-5th grade choir will sing during the late service at Hope on November 2. Students should meet Mrs. Schkade in the Luther Room by 10:15 to warm up. Students will sit in the balcony until their piece is finished, then they will meet their parents in the sanctuary or the narthex. Parents, please email Mrs. Schkade and/or your child’s homeroom teacher if your child has other church or family commitments that prevent him or her from attending.
