3-6 Scoop, January 14

Chapel: Pastor Federwitz, who works for Lutheran Bible Translators, gave our chapel message this morning. He talked about the account of Jesus’s baptism and the great reversal: Jesus switched out His righteousness with our sins. That was done FOR US! All four Gospels give an account of Jesus’s baptism, but only 10% of the written world languages have been translated into the entire Bible. So, God’s word is available to many Christians around the world, but there is so much more translating work to be done. Maybe your son or daughter will be a missionary some day and help with the process of getting God’s precious word to all language groups.

Verse to remember:  As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” (John 3:16-17)

4th and 6th field trip- On January 29, we MUST leave at 7:45 AM in order to be on time for the first tour. We apologize for the mistake on the permission slip that said 8:30 is leave time. We have almost 30 kids to take to Topeka; please consider driving or asking a relative to help us that day, and indicate so on the permission slip. This is a neat trip with lots of exciting Kansas birthday events happening that day, so come along and learn with us!

Chapel- The seventh graders led a great chapel about Jesus’s transfiguration. They helped us understand that a few of Jesus’s disciples were there to witness that amazing event, and those same disciples were at Jesus’s crucifixion and death. These events were “awe”ful...

12/3/25 Chapel: It’s often a little strange to start December with the Biblical account of Palm Sunday. However, Advent and Holy Week are similar in several ways: the joyful anticipation of the arrival of someone quite special and long-awaited, the King of the...
