*Instead of taking a science test and reading test at the end of the year, students are working on projects in those classes that will be graded as tests. These are a big deal! Please check in with your child to assess their progress and the quality of work. The reading project is due Friday, May 8, and the science project is due Monday, May 11. Both of the projects will be presented to the class next week, and the presentations will be graded as well.

*All students returned their permission slips for Monday’s field trip. Thanks to all who volunteered to drive. All 6th graders must wear their 50 states shirt from our Celebrating America event and uniform bottoms. Each student and driver will need to bring a home lunch. Cell phones are not allowed on field trips.

*All work must be turned in no later than Thursday next week since there is no school on Friday. I will be putting together report cards on Friday, so missing work will have to be recorded as a 0% at that point.

A printed copy of the Summer Reading list is in the Thursday envelope. Here is the information:

At Hope Lutheran School, we value reading, and reading every day during the summer is important. Students at each grade level (1st – 8th grade) are REQUIRED to read books by August 21, 2026.
