Mrs. Stava here! While the students are on summer break, I’m going to take over their butterfly garden blog!
Yesterday, I met Alison and Ella at the butterfly garden to check things out. While we didn’t see any Monarchs butterflies in the garden, we DID see that they had been there. A small hole in one of the swamp milkweed leaves led us to deduce that there must be something there. After a few minutes of closely inspecting milkweed leaves, we found 3 itty bitty Monarch caterpillars and more than a dozen Monarch eggs. It’s great to have the Monarch’s back for the summer!
