We have a lot of Monarchs and Black Swallowtails. They live in our garden until they are ready to migrate. Monarchs are black, orange, yellow, and a bit white. A Monarch’s lifespan is 2 to 6 weeks, but Black Swallowtails lifespan is shorter cause they usually live 10 to 12 days. But rarely some could live 35 to 40 days.

Monarchs eat different types of food depending on age. For instance, adult monarchs eat different types of nectar from flowers, but the larvae will only eat milkweed.
