Week at a Glance
In Math, we are working on regrouping and doing what I like to call “skyscraper math” because our problems get so tall! In Science, we are going to plant some corn and investigate how it grows. In Social Studies, we are diving into our research about South Africa and also learning about other people and places around the world. In Reading, we are doing some review of all the things that we have learned so far this year. In Religion, we are talking about what it means to “endure” to go along with National Lutheran Schools Week celebrations.
Grandparent’s Day is next week! This year we are going to do something a little different. We had so much fun dressing up for the 100th day of school, that we are going to bring those costumes back out for Grandparent’s Day. Usually, we spend time talking about the things we do with our grandparents, but this year we are going to pretend to BE the grandparents and share with our visitors what we would do with our future grandchildren. So on Friday, March 14th, all the students are encouraged to dress up again. Wigs, canes, trousers, granny nightgowns…what they all wore last time was incredible!

4. The Pokemon Trainers – 1,234

All the teams are in a tight race. After this week, I will be awarding medals to the top three teams again. Teams now also have the opportunity to earn extra points from writing that they are doing in class.
