Week at a Glance
In Math, we are doing a mini-unit on arrays so that we can get ready for third-grade multiplication! Our corn has been so interesting to track and we have had lots of great class conversations about why some have grown more than others. In Science, we are also investigating all the tools and technology that scientists use. In Social Studies, we are reviewing different landforms and climates across the United States. In Reading, we are loving Charlotte’s Web! We will meet the rest of the main characters this week in our reading. In Religion, we are talking about all the miracles Jesus did during His time here on earth.
Once again, the fourth quarter reading log requires 100 minutes. In addition to this, students now have the opportunity to complete ONE of the boxes on the back to tell me more about the book (or chapters) they read for the week. If the assignment is done well and is neat, they have the opportunity to earn 15 extra points for their team. This is getting them ready for the book reports they will do in third grade next year. If you have any questions, just let me know.

Spelling List Charlotte’s Web Week Two
Spelling lists are a total of 15 words now. If they receive a 10/15, it will still be counted as 100%. I want them to be familiar with the words we are reading, but some of them are a bit more of a challenge. Let me know if you have any questions!
