newsletter-October 9, 2025

Dear Parents,         10/9/2025

We have stayed very busy this week.  The kids are very excited about starting their Island of the Blue Dolphins poster project.  They have already taken their written test over the book and will present their poster project to the class for their final grade next week.  I encourage you to ask them about their poster project.

We are fast approaching the end of the first quarter.  I know it’s hard to believe.  With that being said, I have informed the kids of any work that has not been completed, but needs to be handed in by Wednesday, October 15 in order to receive credit. I would encourage you to ask your child if he/she has anything that needs to be completed. I have informed them.

Since newsletters go out on Thursday mornings, there is always a possibility that our academic schedule may change a bit for the week ahead.  If I decide the students are not ready for a scheduled test it may be delayed by a few days.  I would encourage you to check their assignments in the daily assignment book that they keep in their binder.  That will give you the best information on any changed scheduling.  Thank you.

Our yearly Auction is almost here.  Please consider donating to our Fifth Grade auction basket.  You can sign up on the “Sign-up Genius” that has been emailed to you.

Lastly, I would like to share that I have officially committed to being your children’s fifth grade teacher for the entire school year.  Watching them grow each day academically, socially, and spiritually has been  a joy.  I thank God for them daily and keep them each day in my prayers.  They have all touched my heart.  Thank you for sharing them.
