In the classroom:
Religion: Moses
Weekly Bible verse: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power.” 2 Timothy 1:17
Reading: We have started small groups. I will be able to spend time with students in a small group setting, being able to provide more one on one attention to the groups. We are working on word families, sight words, letter names/sounds/ blending sounds to make words.
Writing: We are learning how to sit properly and how to hold our pencils, working on writing upper/lower case Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd and Ee.
Math: counting and writing numbers 0-5, more, less, equal and oral counting by 10s, 5s and ones to 100.
Social studies: Learning about Mexico. This will be the country will be working on for the International Fair in April.
Science: learning able apples, pumpkins, scarecrows and all things fall.
Apple tasting project: As we learn more about apples, I am asking that every child bring in one apple to share with the class. We will taste them all and decide which ones we like best. Some will be sour, some sweet, other crunchy and some will be soft. This will be fun and tasty.
Kerby Farm Pumpkin Patch: Be on the look out for a permission slip to visit the farm in October, still working on a date. We will need drivers and if you haven’t had a background check, this is a good to to get started.
