This week we have been looking at speed and velocity. We did a virtual lab on the relationship between vertical and horizontal motion. They learned that the force of gravity is the same no matter the horizontal velocity. The time it took for the ball to hit the ground was the same regardless of the horizontal velocity. The only difference was the path that the ball traveled — the greater the horizontal force, the greater the curve in the path. On Thursday, we had our first experience with our new breakout boxes. This is similar to a breakout room experience, but just on a much smaller scale. Ask your child how it went — hopefully they had some fun as well learned more about speed and velocity.
