Physical Science

We are continuing to learn about the Periodic Table. This week we even made our own Alien Periodic Table to help us understand that repeating patterns are the building blocks of the organization of this table. We have learned about how Mendeleev and Moseley contributed to the order and organization of this very important chart that scientists use today. Originally, the elements were arranged according to atomic mass but as new discoveries were made, the table was then organized by the number of protons (the atomic number) and grouped according to similar characteristics.
