Newsletter For October 20th – 24th

October 15, 2025

We are looking forward to fall weather and all the celebrations that are coming up! We are excited about Trunk-or-Treat, Reformation, the PAHS auction, Veteran’s Day, and so much more! Thank you to all those who have donated to our 4th grade auction basket! It’s looking great! We are grateful for all God has done for us here at Hope!

Report Cards

Friday is an early dismissal day. Teachers will be working on report cards in the afternoon. Report cards will be sent home in next week’s Thursday envelope. Please sign and return the unsealed envelope but keep the report card.

Reading

We are nearly finished reading the novel Because of Winn-Dixie and will be ready for a Vocabulary/Comprehension Test over Chapters 14 – 26 on Friday, October 17th. Please spend time tonight going over the Vocabulary Words with your child and reading through the novel workbook questions and answers to prepare. The workbook for Part 2 will be turned in on Friday, October 17th for grading. We are also doing character studies with partners in class. We plan to finish those up in school the following week. We plan to view the movie next week. Please look for a permission slip to be coming home to be signed in order to allow your child to watch the movie with our class. Thank you!

Book-It

Your child’s October Book-It Calendar is being stored in your child’s binder. Please help keep track of the minutes of reading your child does each day of the month. Record the minutes on the calendar, and return it to the teacher with your signature and your child’s signature by Friday, November 8th. We will send a new calendar for each month of the program, which is October – March. Your child will need to complete 600 minutes of reading outside of school hours to receive the Pizza Hut Personal Pan Pizza. Please support your child in taking on this project and completing it. Thank you!

Veteran’s Day

Our school would like to honor the Veteran’s here in our Hope family. We will have a special program for them on Tuesday, November 11th, which includes breakfast and music performances from our children’s choirs and the band. Please inform the office of the names and addresses of your Vets so that we may include them in our special day! Thank you!
