Week at a Glance
In Math, we are still working through our unit on multiplication. Everyone is so excited to learn these new facts! In Science, we are doing one final unit on the physical features of the earth to end the year. In Social Studies, we are taking some time to read through articles about God’s creation. In Reading, we are reviewing skills we have learned throughout the year. In Religion, we are talking about how Jesus calls each and every one of us to be his disciples. Please take the time to study memory and spelling words at home. We are nearing the end of the year and allergy season is upon us. Which means we are running low on our Kleenex supply. If you could bring in a few boxes to help us make it to the end of the year, that would be very much appreciated!

FINE ARTS NIGHT
We are excited about the opportunity to showcase our Arts department on May 9th at 6:30 pm.  Our music directors have worked with the students all year on music theory, rhythm, and voice.  During the evening, each choir will be performing.  Our bands and recorders, directed by Mrs. Eckhoff, will also perform.  Mrs. Bird’s art class projects will be displayed around the building; families will be invited to an Open House where they can enjoy the art projects done by the students. Students will arrive at 6:15 pm and meet their teacher in their classroom. After the music performance, students return to their classrooms where the parents pick them up.  Kindergarten – 2nd grade are to wear their Sunday best.  There will be a cookie reception after the program in the commons. In addition, we will also have a SILENT AUCTION with the class art projects.  You can start bidding on them on April 25th at 10:00 am. Other Notes

  • As we finish out the year, everything starts to get busy. Try to stay in routine as much as you can and make sure your child is completing their spelling homework and reading log. These assignments are a good part of their grade and we all want to finish out the year strong!
  • These next few weeks we will have our spring MAPS testing to see how your child has progressed throughout the year. Make sure your child is getting a good breakfast so they are fueled and ready to go!
  • On Wednesday we collect Chapel offerings. In the Fourth Quarter, we are supporting the Guatemala Mission Trip. Please remember to send your child with a weekly offering.
  • Tuesday, May 7th the 8th graders will be having a bake sale during lunch to fundraise for the beehive. Everything will be $1, so if your child would like a treat at lunchtime, please send them with money.
