Kindergarten Teacher
Position Overview:
Hope Lutheran School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Kindergarten Teacher to join our team. This full-time position requires a teacher who is enthusiastic about working with young learners and committed to integrating faith into daily instruction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Faith Integration: Incorporate Lutheran Christian values and teachings into the curriculum, fostering students’ spiritual development alongside academic learning.
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging lessons in core subjects, including literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, and religion, aligned with state standards and the school’s mission.
- Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive, orderly, and safe classroom environment that encourages mutual respect and promotes learning.
- Differentiation: Address the diverse needs of students by employing various instructional strategies, differentiated teaching methods, and individualized learning plans.
- Assessment: Regularly assess student progress through formal and informal methods, providing feedback and adjusting instruction as necessary.
- Parent Communication: Build strong relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and involvement in school events.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with educational trends.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and administration to ensure a cohesive educational experience for students.
Qualifications:
- A practicing, professing Christian actively involved in their Christian congregation, preferably with a Lutheran background.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education.
- A valid teaching license or the ability to obtain one in the state of Kansas.
- Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to fostering a love of learning and faith in young children.

2nd Grade Teacher
Position Overview:
Hope Lutheran School in Shawnee, KS, seeks a passionate and dedicated full-time 2nd Grade Teacher who demonstrates a strong commitment to Christian education, academic excellence, and nurturing the spiritual growth of young learners. The teacher will create a Christ-centered classroom environment where students are encouraged to develop academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
Key Responsibilities:
Spiritual Leadership
- Model a personal, vibrant Christian faith and actively participate in a Christian congregation.
- Integrate Biblical truths into daily lessons and classroom activities.
- Lead and participate in student prayer, devotions, and chapel services.
Teaching and Curriculum Development
- Deliver engaging lessons in core subjects, adhering to the school’s curriculum and standards.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to foster academic growth and critical thinking.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those with learning challenges or advanced abilities.
- Incorporate technology and hands-on activities to enhance learning experiences.
Classroom Management
- Maintain a safe, organized, and Christ-centered classroom environment.
- Foster positive relationships and promote a sense of community among students.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies that encourage respect, responsibility, and Christian values.
Parent Communication and Collaboration
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child’s progress, classroom events, and other updates.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student learning and well-being.
Professional Growth
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.
Work collaboratively with other teachers to improve instructional methods and share resources.
Qualifications:
- A practicing Christian with a deep commitment to Lutheran values and doctrine.
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
- Current Kansas teaching license (or eligibility to apply for one).
- Experience in teaching or working with young children is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
