It is so good to see all the happy little faces returning from spring break. They look like they have grown a couple of inches taller.

In the classroom: This week in Religion we are learning about the meaning of Easter. In Reading, the students continue to work on their writing skills, beginning, middle and ending sounds and reading books with more text for understanding. In Math, the students are having fun learning about measurement using non standard units to measure with, like connecting cubes, paper clips, etc. In Science, learning about insects is like the best thing ever! They are having a great time learning to be scientist by observing, exploring and investigating.

Weekly Bible verse: “Zacchaeus you come down! I am going to your house today.” Luke 19:5

Science Project: We are ready to start on our class project for the fair. Don’t forget to send $3.00 to purchase their tri board for the project. I have them in my classroom.

2024 Read-a-Thon: We are getting ready to kick off this years’ fundraiser. You will be receiving more information about this fun and exciting event in your child’s Thursday folders. Be on the look out! Kindergarten’s goal is to raise $1800.00 for a new classroom interactive TV.

Report cards: Report cards will be coming home today in the folders. Please remove your child’s report card and keep for your records, sign the envelope and return to school.

Field Trip FYI-Kindergarten and their 8th grade buddies will be going to the Kansas City Zoo on May 3rd. We will need drivers for that day. Siblings are not allowed to attend, so this notice will give you plenty of time to make the necessary arrangements. More information to come.
