Did you know …?

Three of the first four Ecumenical Councils of the Church met during the month of July:

  • First Council of Nicaea (May to August AD 325),
  • First Council of Constantinople (May to July AD 381)
  • Council of Ephesus (June–July AD 431)

The First Council of Nicaea produced the original Nicene Creed, which was then expanded at Constantinople, with additions to the Third Article.
